Students have been raving about this book for years, so I finally got around to hearing it. it is beautiful.  Descriptions of childhood grief and a difficult relationship with the remaining parent. A strong bond with a fox, which he is then forced to abandon. the quest to find the fox again and the determination shown - with a broken foot.  Loved it!
