I would say 75% of this book was descriptions of rooms, furniture and objects that weren't even part of the titular house at Watch Hill. The FMC was insufferable, and the fact that she would brush off so many of the weird things happening around her was unbelievable.
I've enjoyed KMM's other series starters, but this book lacked any sort of depth.
