The Book of Rain by Thomas Wharton

3.0

The premise of this is interesting: a near future look at what the natural world will become as humans continue to destroy the planet for their own monetary gain. Part of it is set near to where I actually live, and though there’s speculative elements, it feels so near to truth that this future world seems likely. However, I didn’t actually like any of our characters completely, so couldn’t get very invested in their lives or outcomes. And then their stories ended, and I didn’t quite understand what was going on exactly during the ending section which was meant to tie everything together, plus there were 4 pov chapters that I couldn’t figure out how they fit into the overall narrative. So, good at points but the ending was not overly satisfying to me.
