Lowcountry Boil by Susan M. Boyer

4.0

This book does a great job achieving the reader in place and bringing the setting to life. Liz is a solid character, one you can picture and relate to in many ways. The mystery is appealing, making it difficult to know exactly who is involved in what nefarious schemes, and who is simply on the periphery. The biggest downside I see with this book is that it’s slow to get started and really suck the reader in. I’m glad I stayed with it because I did enjoy the story and will read other books in the series. But readers looking for action early in the book may not enjoy it.
