The social hierarchy was a bit on the nose, and the book ended right at the most interesting development but without a clear vision of what came next. I also would have liked at least more hints about what led to this generation ship being launched (because I think it could have been really effective if it were revealed that it was actually a bunch of racist assholes who launched the ship to try to start a new slave colony or something like that). But I did enjoy watching Aster solve the mystery of what her mother was up to.
