I first read this book along with the sequel last year around this same time and loved it. With the publication of the third book I thought it would be a good idea to read this book again to see if my original thoughts had changed. I still love this book and it is still a five-star read for me. Some of my thoughts and feelings from the first time I read it are the same. I still love the world building and the characters, especially Rho. I will always ship Rho and Mathias too.
There are things that I picked up on that I didn't notice the first time reading this book. One of the things that I noticed was the very important theme of unity over being divided. While there are separate houses that have their own strengths, they all serve the purpose of protecting the entire zodiac. Friendship is another important theme in this book, Rho couldn't do what she did without the help of her friends. This book is fast-paced and I can see myself re-reading it many times.
