juliat2006 's review for:
Black Butler, Vol. 1
by Yana Toboso
medium-paced
No words can explain how attractive I find Sebastian to be. It's the personality, and the way he is drawn so beautifully. Every scene he was in, he was the one I was focusing on.
There was not too much of interest going on at the beginning of the volume - as it was all rather disjointed in the direction it was going in - but the second half of the book, and especially the fight scene in chapter 4, brought back the excitement. It was drawn fluidly and it had my full attention. Seeing a normally composed man let loose is invigorating to read.
I didn't care too much for the other staff, and I found them to be slightly annoying due to them continually being incompetent at their jobs (how did they get hired anyway?). I like Ciel Phantomhive enough, and I would like to know where the plot progresses next.
