Occasional Fires and Saints by A.E. Jensen

5.0

Occasional Fires and Saints by AE Jensen is phenomenal! These boys, Noah & Joe, are extraordinary men. A firefighter and a police officer, they are both heroes. They are also both lonely and a little broken. So they become each other's hero.
Noah, especially has heartbreak in his past, sometimes debilitating heartbreak. Joe becomes his savior in some ways but Noah saves Joe, too.

"Tomorrow we will run faster…"

Life is difficult, horrible, wonderful thing. We all have our "stuff," our pasts. Things that wake us in our sleep; they can lie hidden in our psyches until they work their way to the surface. Healing can be a huge endeavor but it brings such tremendous relief!
Jensen does a fantastic job of bringing one story to life. I was deeply moved by this book, because I related to it. One thing about Anja Jensen is that her writing is beautifully relatable. OFAS is no exception. I can't tell you how much I love this book and how much you should read it!
