Ali Hazelwood has done it again with her book Not In Love. I was completely wrapped up in Rue and Eli’s messy, magnetic connection.

Rue Siebert is a brilliant biotech engineer working at a company that has been financially taken over by an investment firm. She is fiercely loyal to her company and her ideals, so when she discovers that the man she had a “not” one-night stand with is Eli Killgore, one of the investors involved in the takeover. Things get complicated fast. What starts as pure opposition quickly evolves into something much deeper, as they are forced to confront blurred lines between loyalty, ambition and love.

I loved how Ali Hazelwood wrote a book with emotional layers beneath the witty banter and intense attraction. Rue is prickly, passionate and complex, and Eli is quietly intense with just the right amount of softness. I loved their chemistry, which is explosive, and their emotional vulnerability made their love story work. The corporate conflict added urgency without overpowering the romance.

I loved how the dialogue crackled with tension, and Rue and Eli’s dynamic had me completely hooked.

Not In Love is sexy, smart and full of heart. It’s everything I have come to love about Ali Hazelwood’s writing. If you are into fierce heroines, with enemies-to-lovers tension and stories where falling in love feels impossible until it isn’t, this is a must-read!
