I received this book as part of a “book date” and while it wasn’t something I would normally read based on the writing style, the premise was interesting.
Cons: The twist ending fell flat for me, as did some of the romance plot lines, and I wish Andre got more page time. I also thought the pacing was unsteady - the first quarter was a fairly quick, engaging read, but the last quarter dragged a bit for me. The biggest issue I had with the book, though, was the (lack of) editing. There were some blatant typos that a quick spell check should have caught. I know it’s knit-picky, but errors like that instantly pull me away from the story.
Pros: A very original storyline and engaging dialogue. It was a quick read and kept me on my toes!
