Bending The Rules by Christina C. Jones

4.25

I'm not surprised I liked this book the best in The Wright Brothers Series, as I truly do favor the friends to lovers trope. Toni and Justin were childhood best friends who had a falling out about 7 years ago due to some choices Justin made that really hurt Toni. They kept their distance from one another until an event forces them to address the issues from the past and try to repair their friendship. Of course, romance ensues.

This was more of an introspective read, as both love interests were in their heads a lot.  For the most part, this worked; they were still holding on to some things of the past but were trying to figure out a way to step into a new future.  Sometimes, however, their musings led to assumptions, which led to miscommunication some frustrating ass decisions. I could not wait for them to have  their "come to Jesus" moment and straighten themselves out.

I think that's why I really liked how Aviva and Pops were used in the story; Aviva had no problem calling Toni out and Pops surely gathered Justin up several times. The friend and family group was definitely one of the strongest aspects of the series as a whole. It was nice how all the families came together at the end, even if I was not completely feeling the conclusion.

Overall, solid read!
