This book just really struggled to stand up against the original book. I enjoyed the continuation of certain characters, like Dr. Malcolm, but felt a bit sad to lose most of the other characters from the first book. I understand this is a jump into the future, but it just felt like we should have had some follow up with the original characters! This book as a whole just felt much more scatter-brained, to the point where I was losing the connection/care for certain characters/events because they were not referenced again until much later in the book. It was still an enjoyable read, but I was getting a bit sick of a dinosaur always being around the corner. I know, it’s Jurassic Park…LOL. Time to watch the movies. I still look forward to reading more of Michael Crichton’s books moving forward and feel hopeful.
