Protect by Paisley Hope

I will never not pick up a Paisley book and this did not disappoint! I was told by multiple people that this would probably be my favourite of the trilogy, and I fear they may be correct. I demolished this book so fast, I literally only put it down to eat and sleep.

This story follows Rowan Kingsley, a hotshot firefighter who has a rocky past, breaking his late best friends sister, Violette’s heart at 18. So when Vi shows up in their home town after years of being away, as a newly single mum, working in the burn unit at the hospital, King knows he needs to try and make it up to her. So when an accident leaves him ending up in her burn unit, he takes his shot at trying to reconnect with her, even though she is doing her best to stay as far away as she can, away from anything that reminds her of her past. But second chances really happen, so if there is a chance it can happen, they are going to try.

- Single Mum
- Second Chance Romance
- Hotshot Firefighter x Trauma Nurse
- Brothers Best Friend
- Golden Retriever MMC
- Trauma and Grief reps

Rowan Kingsley… A new top MMC to add to my list! When Paisley wrote “what a fuckable man” I agreed whole heartedly to that line. This man is everything you want: hot, funny, caring, kind, good in bed, passionate, knows how to handle his feelings, the list literally goes on. The way he felt about the girls was just, uhhh I can’t even explain the happiness I felt reading about it. His moment with Hollie actually made my heart burst, his love for that little girl goes the same for her momma!

And let’s not forget Violette! My girl, she is so strong, powerful, beautiful and such an amazing mum! She is definitely a top FMC for me. Her relationship with not only Rowan, but Hollie through the book was just unmatched and so dang sweet. I totally understood her grief and reluctance thought out the book and I think that just made the wait all the more worth it!

Both characters had to deal with their own grief and this was so emotional throughout the story. I cried at how real the emotions Paisley bought to the page were.
I’m obsessed with backstory flashbacks and this book had the best ones I’ve seen in a damn while! It just brings so much more story and emotion to the book!

I didn’t want this book to end, I was hooked and couldn’t get enough. If I could rate this book 100000 stars I would. This whole series so far has been my favourite and I feel it will be hard to beat this year! Please if you haven’t already, take this a sign to read this series!
