Coast to Coast

The banter between Stella and Simon is addicting, spicy and completely hilarious. After finding her ex in a compromising position, realizing she wasn’t even that upset about it, reflecting on the person she wants to be, Stella sets off on a journey of self discovery. Simon knows exactly what he wants, and that’s hockey. Putting in the work to eventually get into the NHL has been a long time coming.
Not wanting to leave Stella alone during the summer, Simon invites her to travel to Canada for a month. What neither one of them expected was start developing feelings toward the other which in turn, has them both scared how it will end.
“I like you like this,” Simon says quietly, his eyes bouncing back and forth between mine. “Happiness looks good on you, baby girl.”
“A look of approval passes through his expression and there’s a storm brewing in his metallic-colored eyes as he nods. “Good girl. You tell me what you want and you’ll be rewarded.”
“Can you just wear my shirts for the rest of forever?” I muse, my lips pulling upward as I take the seat opposite of her at the table. “It’s a look that really suits you.”
“What if I never find happiness like that? I know there’s more to life than love, but everyone wants it, right? What happens if I end up being one of those people who is alone forever?”
“I lean forward, resting my arms on the table. “F everyone else, Stella. You do what makes you happy and one day your soul will find the one that complements it.”
“She’s afraid she isn’t going to properly fall in love… And if Stella is going to fall in love with anyone, I want it to be with me.”
