Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowell
5.0

Saw I had kinda a depressing run of books lately so I decided to cheer myself up with a book about politically motivated murder.

Seriously though my serious crush on the author notwithstanding, Vowell has such a unique, spunky, and down right lovable voice as a writer that she could write about the plight of turnip farmers and still make for an engaging read.

The book covers the three presidential assassinations of the gilded age, with a wit, detail and a fair dose of good old fashioned gossip. The parallel's she finds between the political climate then and the current one are intriguing, but as usual it his her style that carries her so ably across.
