No offense to anyone who thinks otherwise, but this is my least favorite book from TFOTA.
I'm extremely sorry for saying that, it is my least favorite but it doesn't mean that it's not good. It was GREAT! I mean the whole series was! To be honest, I can't really remember the first half of the book (I am so sorry) cause if I remember correctly it really only revolves around Cardan being the new king, Jude being his seneschal, and her trying to figure out how to make Cardan trust her and to even want to extend their supposed time span (1 year and 1 day).
The plot was great, and it got interesting in the second half (I think that's why I only remember that part HAHAHA. I LOVE THE TWIST! It seriously made my jaw drop. Like, THE GHOST BETRAYED THEM?! HOW COULD HEEEE!! I was so pissed especially the fact that he helped Queen Orlagh to capture her and KEPT HER CAPTIVE for a little over a month!
Nonetheless, that part of the story made the book more interesting in my opinion. I love Jude's character development throughout the book but I believe that particular event really affected her. Butttttt, we all know who (yes a character) we're all in love with.
It's none other than Cardan Greenbriar! I love him in this book and how he's being more open with Jude. HOWEVER, HOW-FREAKING-EVER, WHY DID HE BETRAY JUDE LIKE THATTTTT!!! I was legit so close to throwing the book (but I didn't thank God). That twist... WAS PHENOMENAL! It adds so much more to the plot especially to the characters affected by it!!!
Lastly, I just wanna say how I love Jude's character. She is such a morally grey character yet I feel like you can sympathize with her a lot. It was honestly sad to have lived her childhood as she did. But she is nonetheless such a strong independent woman (who actually needn't a man (but welp she's in love with Cardan
