The Color Project
by Sierra Abrams
HI HELLO YOU NEED THIS BOOK IN YOUR LIFE NO QUESTION ABOUT IT. I am so so so proud of Sierra for writing this book and for making me laugh and cry and feel all the feels for this book. I haven't cried from a book in forever. I thought I'd cry after lord of shadows but I didn't (mostly anger) and then I picked this one up and It's one of those books where sometimes you have to put it down because you just can't handle the cuteness. Obviously this book broke my crying over fictional characters and books streak but I am so glad it did! I related to Bee so much and I shared many of the same values as she did and I was so happy to see myself in this character. My full spoiler review will be up soon but for now all I can say is when this comes out get it. Sierra, my friend, you are a true gem with a wonderful talent that is represented by this book! This book is so precious to me and I am definitely going to preorder a finished copy soon as I fell head over heels for this book and will make my children one day read it when they are old enough. There's one spoilery thing I do want to talk about though so if you don't wish to be spoiled shoo. It is so refreshing to have a YA contemporary novel that does not have the two love interests have sex. It's not that I don't mind those scenes in other YA books but with this one I was just really happy they didn't bc the main character doesn't want to have sex before marriage. This is why I felt represented bc I am the same way. There aren't a lot of teens out there that would say this or even say so so publicly but it's something I've never shied away from expressing to boys I have talked too after we've been talking a while. When Bee said this in the novel and Levi just accepted it without question it made my heart so full bc I would hope that when I date a guy and tell him the same thing he would not pressure me if he wanted to and would respect my value of that. So thank you Sierra for writing a magnificent book and I am going to be a super proud mom friend for like the rest of eternity!
