I went into reading this one already knowing who exactly Clariel was, but towards the end I still found myself tensing up when she first put on the mask. When the king misheard her name. In the end, I liked it quite a bit more than I thought I would, and though I told myself that it was time to finally move on to Goldenhand, I find myself wishing that I could go back and reread Lirael.
