You guys I think I may have a new favorite psychopath. We have psychopath Hero, touch her I kill you vibes, dark college romance, hates everyone but her, obsessed Hero.

“You can hide from the whole world, but you don’t need to do so in front of me, baby.”

I rate solely on vibes you guys. And this book gave me everything I was looking for in a dark college romance. Feuding Universities and secret societies. This book can be pretty dark and definitely is not for the weak so check trigger warnings because there’s some gray areas lol.

“Now, I don’t know what angels look like and probably never will—thank fuck I have a designated place in hell—but she’s the closest thing to an angel I’ve ever seen. My own angel.”

I really liked Glyndon and how she’s struggling at the beginning with herself, her insecurities, anxiety, depression even seeming to have the world at her feet. I felt myself being able to relate to her and seeing her come into herself through this book and become a strong woman who feels she can talk about her feelings. Killian was our dark hair morally gray love interest who is use to no emotions. But when he is instantly drawn to Glyndon it turns into obsession that he doesn’t take no for an answer. He’s constantly battling and testing Glyndon while also taking care of her and building her up because he knows the woman she can is but is afraid to show. Nothing will stop him from being with her and protecting her. I loved his obsessive nature and the lengths he took to show her he was his.

To be fair I haven’t read any of the parents books but we do get a chapter from some of their point of views and I loved seeing it from their side even without knowing their stories. The underlying plot and a little bit of mystery keep me interesting in the less exciting plots. But I found this whole book enjoyable.

“Understand this, Glyndon, there’s nothing noble or tender about what I feel for you. It’s a violent volcano of obsession, possession, and deranged lust. If you want love, then I do love you, but it’s the unorthodox version of love.”
