Politics and the English Language by George Orwell

3.0

« feeling which suddenly becomes stronger at moments when the light catches the speaker’s spectacles and turns them into blank discs which seem to have no eyes behind them »

This jumped out at me, I’m instantly reminded of 1984. It’s clear the themes and ideas of the debasement of language discussed here serve as a foundation to his magnum opus. Orwell cooked but it’s too late I fear. I await the day when language is obsolete in favor of emojis. God bless
