It was okay.
The first two thirds of the book were pretty good. Forests are good settings for horror stories. The strange buildings and weird visions were creepy too.

Around the last third of the book, however, it began to go downhill.
Once the bad guys were revealed, it became a slog to get through. It stopped being a wilderness horror and became some sort of weird Misery-style escape story.

The character development was pretty good though, and the final chapter was actually not bad. But I wouldn't recommend this one. The movie was actually better.
