Holy guacamole, I loved this book so much. Extremely lighthearted, funny and fun to read and a casually queer main character (love a book with a queer character where the main plot isn't about coming out!!). Love the fantastical characters and setting that the author wrote, and the dialogue for each character. The author was really able to put me into the home on the cerulean sea, and it was an escape I didn't realize I needed until I read it. The themes of chosen family and community are woven throughout beautifully with characters who have so much depth. I rented this book at the library but I think I'll buy it to keep on my shelf and return to when I'm feeling down.
