Number Go Up: Inside Crypto's Wild Rise and Staggering Fall by Zeke Faux

4.0

An entertaining and informative look at crypto. This paired nicely with the previous two books I read, The Smartest Guys in the Room (fall of Enron) and Den of thieves (insider-trading scandal) as a look at how finance bros are always bullshitting their way to crimes until they get caught (maybe through in a book about Theranos for good measure).

I would recommend this if you want an entertaining and informative look at crypto overall. If you want an in-depth explanation of exactly how it works, this probably isn’t what you want, but the problem is that crypto overall is a scam for laundering money, so if you aren’t a criminal, don’t waste your time understanding the niche details.
