Social media influencer Paranormal Bunny joins her friends for a ghost hunt through a supposedly haunted Appalachian forest. She finds herself working with another influencer, Ghost Daddy, whom she has a history with, and is about to give into her feelings when they are faced with more than tall tales and eerie coincidences. With her life on the line, Bunny goes from hunter to hunted, and monsters with familiar faces are closing in.
I didn’t know what to expect from this story, but I should've realized this author would never steer me wrong! Although this is not a romance per se, it has an underlying romantic element, which worked surprisingly well for the storyline. Bunny was an interesting character once you got into her mind, and I found that I enjoyed her more as the story progressed. Ghost is very complex, playing the dual role of main love interest and secret admirer.
Their past is revealed through flashbacks, giving the reader glimpses amidst the present-day story. The connection between Ghost and Bunny is combustible, but when the why choose elements are added, things really start exploding. My only wish was more background on the MCs because they are just featured throughout the story with no real characterization. I want to know their origin stories and the future they are working towards. However, for a horror story, this one nails it. I was so enthralled that I ripped through the story in one go and only begged for more a little bit.
