“From now until my end, there will only be Rosalie.”

Alexei Sokolov was framed. He knows it, his family knows it (even though he hasn’t heard from them in seven years while languishing in prison), and the person who committed the crime knows it. When Rosalie Mooncrest is assigned to overturn the case against Mr. Sokolov (ahem…Alexei), she is determined to make this her case in every way. She wants to get to the twelfth floor of her firm, Cage and Lion, and this case is her biggest steppingstone there. Unfortunately, the odds are against both of them, so are the rival families, a well-known gang, and the explosive attraction between them is only going to slow them down.

I loved this story as much as the first. As a fast reader (when I want to be), I gobbled this story up in a little less than six hours. Alexei & Rosalie were entertaining and kept my complete attention. The side characters (Alanna & Ella are back), her boarders, and even Garik made me want to laugh out loud to know that they could see what even Alexei & Rosalie were ignoring. Set in an alternate near future California, the power that surrounds the families that harness gems to run the internet flow the darker side of mob families and all that surrounds them.
