Felt like a chore to get through this. Bleak story, weak plot. And the way the women who stole her flat were described, especially their bodies and skin colour, just felt like such a caricature. I’ve read a few reviews in Spanish that criticised the portrayal of these women and the situation in general as classist and racist. I don’t know much about Venezuela, so I can’t comment, but it felt a bit icky to me too. Also, as others have remarked, there was no mention of US sanctions and the cause of the disaster was depicted as completely black and white. Of course, we see things through the eyes of the MC and she can be as biased as needed. She’s just also not a very strong character to carry the whole story.
