What a marvelous book! An excellent synthesis of the grand swashbuckling misadventures in books like The Lies of Locke Lamora with the folklore and aesthetics of The Thousand and One Nights. This novel was historically believable with a dash of the fantastic and divine, and led by a terribly real female protagonist. It is rare to find adventure stories that are so well constructed and written.
