I really enjoyed this book. Lyla Sage captures small-town vibes so well that it felt like I was stepping right onto Rebel Blue Ranch. Ada Hart won me over. After her divorce, she’s trying to rebuild herself, and taking on a design project at the ranch feels like a fresh start. Then there is Wes Ryder, the cowboy who sparks her interest and ends up being her new client. He’s patient, kind, and the perfect balance to Ada’s guarded heart.
I loved Wes. He’s the kind of guy you can’t help but root for, patient, thoughtful and steady with just the right amount of swoon. From their first meeting in the bar, they had a spark, but watching it develop gradually as they worked together was my favourite part. The slow burn was so satisfying, full of gentle tension and small moments.
One of my favourite parts of the book was how mental health was handled, especially through Wes. His openness about living with depression felt honest and refreshing, particularly for a male lead. It added emotional depth to the story while keeping things hopeful.
Overall, Swift and Saddled gave me exactly what I was looking for: a heartfelt, charming slow-burn romance with plenty of sweetness, a touch of steam, and characters to root for. I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more about Rebel Blue Ranch.
