Really my main issue is The "nameless is my price thing with Dorian Sr. It just felt like it came out of nowhere and also made no sense? It could be completely removed and make no difference to the plot, imo. Could have achieved the same thing without that.
Other than this one thing, a very satisfying conclusion to the series. I felt like the story lines wrapped up well, the relationships were in good places (except Manon and Dorian. They don't make sense and should have been friends only - not everyone needs a romantic attachment. I tnink Dorian's healing arc would have been more engaging and interesting without getting him involved with Manon).
I liked that the final showdownwasn't just another big overwhelming fireball. Don't get me wrong, I love a bigass fireball, but it woild have felt cheap to resolve Maeve and/or Erawan the samd way the dam was resolved. .
I feel that the smutty scenes were largely there for plot reasons, and served to move the story forward, rather than them just being there for the sake of smut. A lot of them were not as descriptive as others in this series and other romantasy, and I think that's indicative of the purpose of those scenes.
The emotions were really palpable, especially in Aelin's healing journey and Rowan standing beside her. Top tier romantasy couple. And thank Whomever that Yrene didn't get benched for being pregnant. Overall, and excellent conclusion to a solid, fascinating series.
