The Foxglove King by Hannah Whitten
4.0
i think it's insane just how long it took me to get through this book. I really thought i would fly through it but it took me an age because of how dense it was and just how much there was to remember and learn about the magic systems/gods/poisons etc. my brain couldn't handle it ok
i did really enjoy it though once everything started to make more sense and when i was paying more attention to the plot and what was actually happening. idk, it just seemed like if you stopped paying attention for one minute that was it, boom, instantly confused about what was actually happening
did i appreciate the love triangle? yes, duh. even more so because she wasn't really going for either of them, if anything for the majority of the book it seemed like she was just hella annoyed with both of them (until things started getting cozy with gabe)
can't wait to see what's gonna happen in book 2 because that ending blew me away, so many characters changed drastically (not always for the best) and i just NEED to know how the author is gonna get things moving!!!
