I received a copy of this book as part of the blog tour (see below for more info), but it in no way effected my review!!
The main character, Prudence, is awesome! She is fiercely loyal, stubborn, loving, and oh, so innocent. She is funny and spunky and I would love to have her as my sister! She is also incredibly tough but still feminine. In a lot of books you get one or the other, but Prudence is the perfect blend of both. She wants her independence but she still wants a family to take care of (which makes sense for her time period). And the best part is she can have both! You don't have to pick between independence and being a housewife if you want both! (Does that make any sense?)
The leading man, Lord Knave, is pretty cool as well. He is every bit the gentleman, most of the time. Once or twice Prudence gets under his skin, but he always tries to do what is right. He is not perfect, which makes him all the more likable! He is not in an easy situation, but he makes the best of it and is overly considerate of everyone around him.
I love the premise of the story as well! Prudence just wants to enjoy life and see her sister happily married so that she can start looking for someone of her own. She is loathe to think her sister won't be happy with the man she is intended for, so she make it her business to help them fall in love. Like I said she is fiercely loyal. But just because her main goal is her sister's happiness doesn't mean that Lord Knave can't help her too! He is just the man to answer her questions! Questions she can't ask anyone else :D
Some of the scenes are absolutely hilarious, while others are heartbreaking and sad. This book contains a full spectrum of emotion! But overall it is a feel good happy book and a good read! It is completely clean romance too, so everyone can read it! I would recommend it if you are looking for a good love story and a fun book!
