Objectively this is a well written stylistic book about difficulty of grief and relationships.
That said, this was one of the most unpleasant books I have ever read. The 2 main characters were some of the most horrible and insufferable people I have ever come across. They are both deeply misogynistic and incapable of doing anything without their girlfriends their to do all of their emotional labour. The girlfriends themselves are unfortunately also poorly developed and exist only to enable the protagonists.
I get the flaws are some of the point of the narrative, and to be fair do fully believe that people like this exist in the world, so points for realism I guess?
