The Broken Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin
3.75
adventurous dark mysterious tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Def not as strong as the first book in the series. I like anthologies but I really do prefer staying with the same cast of characters and I def would have rather read what tf was going on with Yeine and the dark daddy. And not these randos but I guess I did end up caring about them by the end of the book or whatever.

More psychological thriller but fantasy that the first one, the story centers around a conspiracy and a bunch of dead godlings. (which are thrown into the world like I'm supposed to know wtf that means, it does get explained) god anthologies.

These kinds of books always kill the one character I actually like and want more from, so expect sadness, and confusion. But like it was good.
