Ok the Caraval series was great, but THIS!!! I fell so in love with the entire book. The story, the characters, JACKS… everything about this book was enchanting. I absolutely devoured it!
OUABH definitely feels YA, but compared to Caraval, I didn’t feel as if anything was missing because of that. Evangeline might be naive, but she is also fierce and kind and so optimistic it’s almost funny. I loved the twists and turns of her story, with fate and mystery mixed together to create such an exciting tale I could not put it down. And did I mention Jacks??? I’m obsessed with his character and can’t wait to read the next book!
My one disappointment was the end - I expected a bigger cliffhanger tbh but it’s a very minor preference that I can easily overlook. 5 stars all round!
