Breach of Peace by Daniel B. Greene

1.0

Book Rating: 01/10:

You know I'm a fan of Daniel Greene. He seems like a nice bloke. His YouTube channel is brilliant and his knowledge of the genre is second to none. So I was interested in seeing how that would translate into his debut novella. Unfortunately, it does not. The writing was cumbersome at times and there was no natural flow to it. It seemed to jump around too much. I liked the main character and I loved the dark tones of the story. I think with more refinement of his craft he could be a decent writer. I actually think if this had been a novel and Daniel had more pages to flesh his ideas out I think I could have given this at least 5 or 6 out of 10. Because the building blocks for a decent story are there. He just didn't take the opportunity to build it. The ending without giving any spoilers has me intrigued and will probably get me to read his second book in this series. I just hope he takes on board some of the constructive criticism people have mentioned in their reviews and not just listen to his Booktube friends. Whether I pick up his next book or not I do wish Daniel all the best with his writing career going forward.
