This book feels like a spiritual companion to Natsuo Kirino’s works (especially Out) in that it portrays this criminal world that exists just underneath the “typical” world of society– and, more importantly, shows how easy it is for “normal” people to slip into that world. None of the characters are participate likable, but they are interesting, and I enjoyed both the plot and the ending.
