Eileen by Ottessa Moshfegh
4.0
I love unlikeable character-driven stories, so I enjoyed this thoroughly. I have read few other Moshfegh novels, and I don’t think any others do detailed descriptions quite like Eileen. I love her style of writing. love how deeply descriptive it is and how her characters feel so raw. This book in particular equalled all of my past standards. I particularly liked the way Moshfegh wrote the relationship between Eileen and her father, and how it paralleled Lee Polk and his father in certain ways. The relationships are definitely what stood out in this.
