One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez
adventurous challenging reflective

i really enjoyed this style of narrative as if someone is telling you a story. i enjoyed the cyclical elements and honestly didnt find the repetition of names all that confusing (although having a family tree at the beginning helped!)
i also enjoyed the magical realism, especially the initial conflict between science and magic. plus the physical manifestation of metaphors was nice. i liked the yellow butterflies or the trail of blood for example.
some very memorable characters here as well.
an important book in the history of literature: glad i read it!
