i didnt finish the book, the book finished me. i don't even know how to compose my thoughts on this book, but I loved it. i felt the characters were well fleshed out and complex, especially rin and altan. those two characters were my personal favorites and I cannot stop thinking about altan's character. altan was deeply flawed yet I found him to be lovable. his lore was so incredibly gut-wrenching and he was doomed from the start, he was tortured mentally and physically and wasn't seen as anything but as a weapon, no one ever truly respected him but he was expected to be the best of the best, he never had a chance at a normal life. not even r.f kuang could make me hate altan trengsin.
