The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book.

On the one hand, the action/intense scenes were AWESOME. I was glued to my Kindle screen and was completely sucked in to the world of Henrietta, Virginia. The different twists to the story really piqued my interest, and I found myself desperately wanting to know what happened next. Also, Ronan Lynch ♥

On the other hand, I felt that it was pretty boring in places. The first time anything of note really happens in the story doesn't come about until about 30%, and then not again until about 50%. I was also extremely confused for the majority of the book. Nothing is explained until near the end, and even then I was still confused about the characters' motivations and thoughts for why they were doing what they were doing. Other than the fantastic actions scenes, I felt like I was forcing myself to read through at places.

I feel like if I was rereading this book, I would get a lot more out of it. There are a lot of little tidbits of information sprinkled throughout the book that make zero sense until the end. Unfortunately, as a first read it just didn't jibe with me very well. However, I will definitely be continuing on in the series as that ending was way too cliffy for me to deal with. Also, Ronan Lynch ♥
