Heavy by Cate C. Wells

5.0

This book hooked me from the first page. I had been waiting for this since we first met Heavy, and once I learned Dina would be his love interest - I was a goner. Couldn't wait to get this and start reading, and it didn't disappoint. I loved every minute of reading Dina and Heavy's journey. As with past books, the handling of Dina being on the spectrum is done very well and adds an extra layer to everything in this book. The reader sees and experiences things through her eyes differently as she does herself. Heavy has always been an intriguing character, leader of steel bones, highly intelligent, but deceptive because of his appearance and lifestyle. In previous books, he didn't always say much, but then when it did it really seemed to carry weight.

Dina and Heavy meet when Dina breaks into the clubhouse, sneaks into Heavy's room, and tries to blackmail him into helping her when she kills her uncle. This all happens in the first few pages. Heavy is a steamy, sexy adventure that doesn't disappoint. It's everything you want and expect from an MC book. Heavy is exactly the alpha, possessive and protective badass you would expect to find in one. This is a standalone, but all of the books in this series, and the connected series, are fantastic so I strongly recommend you read them at some point if you haven't already - you won't be disappointed! I can't wait for the next Cate C. Wells!
