The Paleontologist by Luke Dumas

Did not finish book. Stopped at 25%.
It's very rare that I do not finish a book. I like to finish every book I start even if it takes me five years to read it. But I couldn't keep giving this one chances. I gave the audiobook 3 hours of my life and refuse to give it 8 more when I've been so bored the whole time. The story (so far) is mostly flashbacks of Simon's childhood and past life with snippets of the present story and mystery of the museum in between. I want to find out about the dinosaur bones and spooky happenings at the Hawthorn. I do not want to listen in on another one of Simon's Zoom meetings, sit through another flashback, or hear about people pulling their masks on and debating on whether or not to shake hands because Covid.

I've also been struggling with the narrator. I feel his voices sound too alike, and I'm mixing up the many different side characters. But this is my first ever audiobook listen so maybe that's just something I need to get used to.

This book has a lot of positive reviews so I'm sure it picks up and gets interesting later on, but I'm not patient enough for that. Life is too short and I have way too many other books I want to invest my time in.
