Bred to Kill by Franck Thilliez

5.0

Wow!! All I can say is Michael Crichton must have come back to life as a French author! I've now read both of Thilliez's books that were translated into English, and I dearly hope there will be more. This book brings Sharko and Lucie back together (no spoilers here about how the previous book ended - you'll have to read it) to delve into some brutal murders and the biological root of this particular evil. It's tough to put down, and has a lot of fascinating background information on DNA, retroviruses and Cro-Magnon man. Like "Syndrome E", this book had me Googling details to find out where fact and fiction separate. Fascinating, thrilling and very well written (and translated)!
