Wicked Beauty by Katee Robert

This book gave me a lot of feelings. I don’t know if they’re good feelings or bad feelings however…
I would first off like to say that Katee Robert is one of my all-time favorite authors and I have loved every single thing thus far that I have read by her. However, this book confused me. I really didn’t get into the book until about halfway through and I’m very surprised that I did because I had already convinced myself that this was gonna be the first book that I hated by her.
Pro: I did really like the relationship between Achilles, Helen and Patroclus. I found their banter very fun and it had me laughing a lot. I really liked how Achilles was painted out to be such an asshole but really had the biggest heart and you can really see that. The connection between Helen and Patroclus was instant and so adorable. I found myself swooning at a lot of really tender moments.
The smut in this book is fantastic. That is no surprise because Katee Robert never disappoints with that. I loved the sexual tension that was there. The scenes definitely made me feel like I wish I was in the middle of that threesome to be 100% honest!
Con: I really just hated the entire plot of the book. I just found the story to drag in the first half. Then when I got to the end (which I knew the outcome…I guessed it a long time before) I felt like everything was just rushed. I wish that the book was at least 20 pages longer so we could’ve gotten a little something more in the end.
All in on when I look back at the end of the book I do think that I like the book when I got to the end a little bit more than I had initially when I was reading it. I also was looking at all of the tabs that I had stuck in a lot of the parts that I liked and there are so freaking many of them so clearly I did like it.
All in all I don’t think that my review is helpful in anyway shape or form and that I know!
