Reckless Soul by Emma Creed

Rating: 4.5 Stars
Nyx seems to like some of the perks that come with the MC lifestyle. But there are jobs that need to be done too. Ella seems to be a slight introvert – depending on the situation. It’s understandable since there seems to be some bullying going on.
The author could have taken the easy route and made more of a big deal of the theme of bullying but I’m glad she didn’t. It was nice that the interactions between our main characters overshadowed that. If you have triggers, it is there and is important to what is going on in the story.
This story had me thinking of the television series 21 Jump Street. I could picture Nyx being a version of Johnny Depp. And that’s where the age-gap feeling would come in. But instead of the police like in Jump Street, this version revolves around an MC. Nyx is a tough guy with a big heart. Ella has a big heart but is in a bad situation not of her making.
It’s a story that slowly sucks you in. You want to find a good stopping point but there isn’t any. If you stop, you might miss something good. But depending on when you started the book you just may have to force yourself. The twists and turns with some steam is another reason to keep reading. It’s an addiction that I don’t want anyone to find a cure for. But now that this series is in my blood, I want to know how soon the next book will be in my hands.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
