It took me 2 months to finish this book my gosh. The pacing was so slow. I was bored a lot of times. Imagine reading about a conversation where they talked about hills and trees. I was like "yeah I know what trees look like?".
But anyway, I liked a lot of the characters.
1. Sir John - He's a darling.
2. Colonel Brandon - He's awkward but also a darling.
3. Mrs. Jennings - She lives for gossip but in Chapter 40, she was officially my most favorite character from this book.
I loved Elinor and Marianne's loving sisterly relationship. They're so loyal to each other and feel deeply for each other's suffering. And I'm definitely Elinor. I rarely let my emotions take over, unlike Marianne. But what can I say? She's only 17.
Jane Austen's dry humor still made my day. Though I think I still like Pride and Prejudice more than this one, mainly because I really like the haters-to-lovers trope. But what I enjoyed in Sense and Sensibility is that I don't know who will end up with whom. I was snickering in the story of Edward and Lucy because I thought their engagement is a misunderstanding (yes I speculate too much) and then when I found out that their engagement is real, I was surprised and confused and thought "what will happen now?".
I looked back at my annotations and found that I had a lot of reactions at the 2nd half of the book with one scene where I only noted "*Gasp*" lmao. What is wrong with me.
