This is one of my very favorite child ten’s books I have ever read, and I have read a ton! The author, Kaitlyn Wells, takes a cute, little puppy and explores the wrong assumptions about her and her family based strictly on looks. As a mom in a biracial family, it brought back memories of how people viewed MY family, with the confused, curious looks when I would meet my daughter’s teacher for the first time and would actually be asked, “Are you sure?” when I would introduce myself as my daughter’s mother. I would have LOVED to have had a book like this to read to my girls when they were growing up. I’m so happy that this book was written to help educate people that love, not looks, do indeed, make a family! I highly recommend this book. Great illustrations, and fantastic message for everybody! My granddaughter LOVES this book, as do I!!
