daphne du maurier can do no wrong! i didn’t love this ~quite~ as much as rebecca but it was equally as atmospheric and enthralling. the way she writes setting and all the gothic elements is just incredible. i always really love daphne du maurier’s main characters, and mary yellan was no exception. such a good book to read in january when the weather is awful. just love love love this woman’s writing.
