But were they clever? Hell, no.

Did I enjoy reading this book? Hell, yes!
This was a wild ride and also a quick read. I liked the execution and although all of the above applies, I enjoyed the experience of reading this story a lot and I was never bored or annoyed. So I guess you will have to decide for yourself if this is for you.
