Be Still My Heart by Emily McIntire, Sav R. Miller

5.0

When I first heard that Emily Mcintire and Sav R. Miller were planning a collaboration, I couldn't contain my excitement! Because, whatever Emily and Sav write I will read it, hence their work tends to be a five star read for me. If you read these amazing authors' work, you won't be disappointed with this read!! Be Still My Heart is a standalone, romantic suspense and thriller, grumpy sunshine and enemies to lovers romance. Normally, I don't really read many thriller or crime novels. But, Emily and Sav did not fail to execute this plot!! Navigated from the main characters' perspectives: Lincoln and Sloane's. This book! It's utter perfection!! And it needs to be adapted into a movie! The flow of chain events synchronized amazingly; the suspense was superb, it never ceased! Especially, as the mystery surrounding the town started to unravel in front of my eyes, it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat.

The investigation forcing Lincoln to provide assistance; Sloane's persistences in solving the case, namely getting on Lincoln's nerves. And most importantly, the energy between them! They might be on opposing sides, and get under each others' skin but their chemistry is heated and electrifying; crackingly from the moment their eyes met. Lincoln is the perfect example of a grumpy and moody character. I absolutely love Sloane's character! She's independent, career driven and ballsy; she didn't stop until she had her answers. Lincoln and Sloane are both stubborn and guarded characters. But when Lincoln and Sloane were in close proximity, they were are able reading each others' thoughts and body language easily. I thought I had some what of an idea where this plot was heading, but boy, oh boy... I was so wrong! Especially the last few chapters!! It blew my mind!!! Hence, I needed some time to digest what I read. Overall, a great read for thriller and romance fans!!
